Finally I got around to playing another game of 40k, probably my last for 5^th edition, so in a rather odd decision; I decided to carry on using my friend’s imperial guard instead of giving my elder one last hurrah. We will see; maybe I can get one more game for 5^th edition, But I highly doubt it. Anyway this was a 1500 game, imperial guard vs. Bike marines in a spear head annihilation game.

So i noticed this week i have hit a quite amazing 10,000 page views for my blog. Now when i started this blog i never though i would make it so 1,000  views. I just want to say thank you to every one who has ever commented or just viewed my blog, it makes it feel like all the battle reports and shit hasn't been worthless. So this is my test model for my renegade guard. Now i'm not sure how i feel about it. I expected it to look better but it doesn't look great. I need help with how to improve this guy. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Enjoy some more pics of the model.

Well this week their is and isn't a battle report. Its more of a collection of images and idea that i came from a game i played against chaos using my friends imperial guard models. A lot of proxies where used on both sides so its nothing special to look out, it just gives an idea of what happened.

The eldar are swapped for their darker kindred in this week’s battle report. Unfortunately I didn’t have much time for a game so we had to make it a small skirmish.

One last blow out

With the games workshop price increases due in the next month i'm unsure whether or not i should have one last blow out and buy all those things i have wanted for a while but never got round to buying. It is unrealistic to think i will but the imperial sector for £80, its just not worth it, so should i by it now? should i spend £200 on plastic crack now before that 200 become £300? am i going to save myself money or just spent it and never get round to it?

It's getting harder to carry on with such high prices, i was thinking of selling my old stuff that i have never used but keeping them might be better now everything's getting more expensive in case i change my mind. I just don't know. I just don't know.

A moment of laxity...

Before I go head first into my traitor guard army I wanted to know what colour scheme I am after for them. I have played around with a couple colour combinations and I think I have ended up with this scheme. I didn’t want anything too elaborate as I’m not a great painter, I just want something I can do that looks like a good gaming standard. I will probably regret this in the future but regardless, here is what I propose my traitor guard will look a bit like.

I know it’s not the right model, but I didn’t want to waste a forge world model one test so I dug out one of my old guard to be the test subject. I just wanted a plain colour for the tunic/pants and any extras like armour or hoods will be the green colour. Now I originally intended to have the green a bright green but decided later on that the more muted pate colour fit the theme better. I just seem nurgles green like a pale one, more akin to rot and disease than bright green. The flesh I’m not 100% happy with but I will experiment with it a bit more. It’s intended to be a pale colour with a bit of green so they traitors look diseased. Can’t be having healthy nurgle guard now can we? So what do you guys think? Please let me know and comment on how I can improve this before I go to town on my guard.
