1000 Point Tournament: reviewing the army list

With the tournament getting every closer i keep getting worried whether or not my army list is good enough to be able to hold its own against the other armies out there. I am going to be taking eldar, pure eldar at that, as its only 1000 points. Is this list any good though? click and let me know what you think.

Here is the list, 1000 points dead.

Farseer - 93
guide, runes of warding, singing spear

10 Guardians - 95
scatter laser

5 rangers - 95

3 war walkers - 180
scatter lasers

6 fire dragons - 96

wave serpent - 125
twin scatter, shuriken cannon

6 fire dragons - 96

wave serpent - 125
twin scatter, shuriken cannon

Defence line - 85
lascannon

With this list i would have the farseer manning the lascannon hopefully taking out any big flyers or av 13-14 tanks at the starts. the guardians and rangers would hide behind the defence line while the fire dragons go hunting on their own.

I would have preferred a quad gun but i need the points elsewhere, i potentially could reduce the fire dragons down to 5 each but in my experience 6 is a better number because half always seem to miss. Might just be my dice though. Let me know what you guys think, an help would be great as this is my first 40k tournament and i have no idea what is coming.

Or do i go for this list?

Farseer - 90
runes of warding, guide (swapped for prescience)

10 guardians - 95
scatter laser

9 dire avengers - 108

3 war walkers - 180
scatter lasers

5 fire dragons - 112
exarch, tank hunters, crack shot

wraithlord - 155
missile launcher, lance

Wraithlord - 155
missile launcher, lance

Defense line - 100
quad gun

So this list revolved around the fire dragons on the quad gun taking out light tanks and flyers while the wraithlords and war walkers take apart the enemy. I just have to be careful with wraithsight and putting the walkers in the right place.

Which do you think is better?

  1. In the second list I wouldn't swap guide out. Having been on the other end of guided walkers it's just grim. Also in both lists I would consider swaping out the gardians for Dire avengers as the range of 18 over the gardians 12 makes a massive difference, with BS 4 and a 4+ save (I think) gardians are so much worse. Also at the least I would realy think about an Exarch with Bladestorm and the second gun.

    1. Swapping guide for prescience is a good trade. As its the only power I dont lose anything but effectively double the range of guide.

I am thinking of swapping the guardians but im not sure. They will be objective holders and the guardians just have more bodies. But dire avengers would deal more damage. Im not sure...
