With my first Tournament of 7th coming up soon I have come
up with 2 lists, one of which I am more comfortable playing with, but I’m not
100% sure which to use. A stipulation of the tournament is that every model
must be painted and must represent what it is, so no proxies (it is at
warhammer world after all).
This is what my painting challenge has been down to over the last
month and it was rather successful (more on that another time) but for now
these are the lists I have come up with, please let me know what you think.
List 1 (Balance)
Farseer – 100 (warlord)
Spiritseer – 70
10 Dire Avengers – 130
Wave Serpent – 120
Twin-linked scatter laser
10 Guardians – 110
Bright lance
3 Jet bikes – 51
8 Warp spiders – 152
6 Swooping Hawks – 96
Crimson hunter – 160
2 War walkers – 140
4x scatter laser
Fire Prism – 125
Wraith Knight- 240
Total: 1494
This list is a rather balanced list so if I come across any kind of
spam I will probably struggle, but I know what I am doing with it. The
guardians, farsser and war walkers stay at the back while the wave serpent,
warp spiders and knight push forwards. The hawks will plug any gaps as will the
crimson hunter. The spiritseer will join the Dire avengers using Runes of
Battle (hopefully getting -3 leadership or -1 armour) and aiding the fight. It’s
a basic plan but it can work. But if the mission isn’t objectives I might
struggle as a few of my units are fragile.
List 2
Spiritseer – 70
Warlock x 2 – 70
10 Dire Avengers – 130
Wave Serpent – 135
Twin-linked scatter laser, holo field
10 Guardians – 110
Bright lance
Wave serpent – 135
Twin-linked scatter laser, holo field
10 Guardians – 110
Bright lance
Wave serpent – 135
Twin-linked scatter laser, holo field
8 Warp spiders- 152
Wraithknight – 240
Fire Prism – 125
3 War walkers – 210
6x scatter laser
Total: 1492
This list is probably more typical for a tournament setting, the 3
wave serpents will be a pain to shift especially with the 3+ jink, and then
they can drop out all of the bladestorming fun. With the serpents having objective
secured they will be tank shocking people off objectives as much as possible.
This list does have some problems with anti-flier and general anti-armour. I
only really have the fire prism and knight from the start but if things get
desperate the guardians can get out and shoot with a lance.
Right now I’m not 100% sure which list to run and I could really do
with some advice from you guys, you have always been a great help in the past.
I like your lists I'm just wondering whats your plan for the Warlocks and Spiritseer. Why not lose 1 warlock and upgrade the Spiritseer to a Farseer?
ReplyDeleteMy list would probably be closer to the second list minus the above change.
Always nice reading your posts.
With the warlocks and spiritseer they will be using runes of battle.now they dont need to just take conceal if they get any good powers such as jinx or horrify they can easily change the way a battle is going.
ReplyDeleteI think that the second list is a lot stronger in general. Since this is for tournament play I'd go with that.
ReplyDeleteWith the abundance of 4+ ruins now the conceal getting you a 2+sv is epic and a lot more reliable. So epic for blob squads on foot. Warlocks did get quite a boost with the new phase. Psychic scream has also received a bit of a buff with the 6" range increase.
ReplyDeleteI only played my first game of 7th last week so I still need to test out how much I can rely on my powers like I use too.
I've also thought Having a Farseer dedicated to only Eldar powers with the Spiritstone is a Good build what do you think of it?
