Chaos Renegades and Heretics: Painted chimera + Demolisher

After spending some time working on the eldar articles i though it was time i got back to painting my Renegades and Heretics as i am taking them to Throne of skulls in July. As the theme for the event is tanks, and all vehicles get objective secured i though i might as well get finishing my tanks.

Chimeras with Autocannons

First of all a little conversion work, nothing special but recently i have been using my chimeras with autocannons instead of multi-lasers as the extra range and strength means they can glance knights, which i am fully expecting to face. So i cut down some heavy weapons team autocanons that i haven't used and magnatised them so i can swap them when i want to go back to other weapons. At first they just looked weird with them unpainted, but now they are painted they look a bit more natural. I just wish i could have the barrels a little longer, but it will do for now.

I have added a few chaos markings to the sides
My Demolisher has been in a state of w.i.p for quite some time so i decided that i should get my ass into gear and finish it off as my tanks aren't exactly hard to do, just a few washes here and there then maybe some chaos symbols thrown on to look like the renegades painted them on themselves. when i built this tank i didn't add any extra spikes like i did the other tanks, i just didn't feel it needed them. Quite often GW go overboard with their spikes to show chaos are 'evil' and i don't want that. My guys follow chaos, it doesn't mean they have to shuv spikes every where (they don't follow slaanesh).

Few more scriblings this side as well
Next i am thinking i will finish off any infantry i have bfore moving on to the other units. I am still not 100% sure what my list will be yet so i don't want to waste time painting units i wont be needing. That crazyness is for free time.

Anyway, what do you guys think?

  1. Love the look of those tanks. Surprisingly clean for chaos forces yet it still works.

  2. The chaos iconography and symbols look great on the tanks!
