Don't Suffer Alone

This is rather off topic but I feel its a rather important post all the same, and I wanted to share with all of you. A few days ago I found out that a friend of mine decided to end her life, apparently she has suffered with depression for a very long time and finally lost her battle, and decided to end it. A massive hole has been left in all who knew her and I feel like I need to write this post so that it might help some one in the future. Please read though what I have to say, it might not help you, but it might help some one you know.

Imperial Armour Review part 3: Force of the Imperium and Background

Despite the Imperium taking a large part of the background of this book, it was very much under represented inside the rules section, with only 2 characters being represented. Still I will go over them and then the Background of the book.

Imperial Armour Review Part 2: Eldar Corsairs

Part 2 of the Review and we move onto the Eldar Corsair army list. As a brief overview, the army is a very fast army (more so than dark or craftworld eldar) and has a mixture of options available from the other two kin books. If you ever though “my Dark eldar are too slow and too resilient” then Corsairs are the force for you.

Imperial Armour Review Part 1: Eldar Units

Having read though the second edition of the Doom of Mymeara with excitement over the updated rules for Eldar warmachines and units I though I would share with you all what I though. This review will be in three parts, the First (this part) will be on the Eldar rules, the Second part will be covering the Rules for Corsairs, and the third Forces of the Imperium, Background and my overall opinion of the whole book. Anyway onto the Eldar units...

Onto 2016: What do you want?

As its the end of the Year I thought I would have a look back on what I have done so far on the blog this year and compare it to the previous ones. This is more of an introspective post but I will probably have a few questions about the blog I would greatly appreciate you answering (skip to the bottom if you want to just help and see the questions).

Mixed feelings on selling models...

This week I have started doing things that I never though that I would do, I'm selling off the models that I just don't use any more. I have always though that I would just store away what things I'm not using currently and then get them out at a later date when they get updated or the mood takes me. But unfortunately life gets in the way and sometimes you just have to do things that you don't want to.

Looking at Necromunda

With people playing Gorkamorka at the club, it got us talking about other old specialist games and the topic of Necromunda came up. Out of the specialist games I only played inquisitor and Mordheim, both of which I though were brilliant. With this in mind I decided to look though the old rules for Necromunda, after purchasing the hardback rules for the first edition of Necromunda. In our discussions it appeared there was very little rules difference, but a few people preferred the first edition over the second. As I have never played Necromunda I though it could be a fun game to play in the future, especially if its any where near as good as Mordheim.

My Local Gaming club

A look at my local gaming store

For about two years now I have been going to the same gaming club, and I haven't really mentioned it on here at all, so I though that I would share with you all. I live in the north-west of England so my closest club is at the Wargame store, in Brimstage.

Post Throne of Skulls: Appologise and Age of Sigmar

When I was done with throne of skulls and the horrible write up phase commencing, I decided to give 40k a little brake as well, I was a little burnt out from a weekend of constant play. This means that Age of Sigmar had a chance to try and corrupt me. As I have a lot of old fantasy about I thought I would just use that and see what I thought of the new game.

Armies of Throne of skulls July 2015

As a precursor to the battle reports I thought I would show you all a few of the armies that I was able to take pictures of during the July 2015 Throne of skulls event. Some of the armies were beautifully painted and really put mine to shame, making me want to try and up my painting game. Unfortunately I only have a few pictures of the armies as practically all of my games took the full time allowance so I didn’t get much time to take pictures but I have a couple.

July 2015 Throne of Skulls: The Army list

You all may be wondering why I have been playing such odd points recently, 1875, a very strange points limit. Well its because they have been games in preparation for the July 2015 Throne of Skulls weekend event at games workshop Nottingham. Now the event will be using Mealstrom of war mission (hence the appearance of mealstrom of war missions recently) and all of the vehicles will count as having objective secured as well. So I'm expecting a lot of armour during the Event.

Codex Craftworlds: Formations part 2

This is part 2 of my look at the Eldar Craftworld Formations, for those of you who missed the first one click here. Its half review, half my opinion on them.

Codex Craftworlds: Formations Part 1

With the main review out the way I though I would have a more in-depth look at the formations in the book and my feelings on them and any potential combos that could make then rather valuable on the battle field. This will be a two part look.

Codex Eldar Craftworld: Review

Another Eldar Codex has come out, taking the place of the old one after only 3 years of using the 6th edition codex. Well either way we have a new one so I though I would review it for you all compared to the old one. So here are my thoughts.

New Games Workshop Carry Case: Review

After seeing the new games workshop carry case, I was confused about how it worked, but after seeing a friend buy one and fill it with about 4000 points worth of blood angels I was rather impressed. And I do need a new case for my renegades and heretics so I thought that I would give it a go. So now that I have one in my possession, I will share my thoughts on the new case.

Zombicide Season 3

Finally after many months of waiting, my package has arrived from backing Zombicide season 3 on kickstarter. And how happy I am that I did, all of the new items truly are amazing. So I thought that I would show you all some of the new rules, models and general fun that will await you all in the future.

40K Rules Question: Barrage

I have recently been looking at my Heretics and Renegades force and thinking what I would like to add to the force in the future. And purely from a background perspective for the traitors, I would like to add in some artillery pieces, both tanks and actual artillery. However looking over the rules, an issue has come up that I would like your help with.

Imperial Armour 13 Review: Part 2

My first review was focused on the Renegades and Heretics army list present in the book, as I was rather exited about having a list for chaos that wasn't marines or daemons. Now I think its time that I went over some of the other things in the book that deserve a mention. As its the war machines of the last and the damned, you can Imagen there is a lot to say.

Imperial Armour 13 Review Part 1: Renegades and Heretics Army list

With the release of Imperial Armour 13 I had to get it, mainly for the army list, but I do love the Imperial Armour books, as they are finely crafted. As its a big book, I though I would break it down into 2 parts, the Renegades and Heretics Army list, and the Chaos Space Marine bits. So here is part 1 of the review, the army list.

Skulkers Surprise: Slowing down

Over the last few years I have been trying to post as regularly as possible, generally this has been twice a week, every tuesday and friday morning. Sometimes if I have a review or an question I will go out of my way to make sure I get it out asap generally coming out on a saturday. However due to recent events I have lass time on my hands to do such things. As much as it pains me I will be reducing my posting to once a week.
