Throne of Skulls: Orc List for Rotwater Blight

I am attending the Age of Sigmar Event: Rotwater Blight tomorrow (at time of posting) so I though that I would share with you all the army that I will be taking. As the conditions for any Games workshop event is everything must be painted and based, I decided to take my Orcs, as they weren't any where near done and it would give me a good kick up the arse to paint them. So here they are, Grimgore's Ard'boyz.

July 2015 Throne of Skulls: The Army list

You all may be wondering why I have been playing such odd points recently, 1875, a very strange points limit. Well its because they have been games in preparation for the July 2015 Throne of Skulls weekend event at games workshop Nottingham. Now the event will be using Mealstrom of war mission (hence the appearance of mealstrom of war missions recently) and all of the vehicles will count as having objective secured as well. So I'm expecting a lot of armour during the Event.

Night Goblin list 2000 point

Who doesn't love the underdog? I know I find it hard not to be on their side, and in warhammer fantasy one of the biggest underdogs are the goblins. Now I do have a soft stop for the forest goblins, as they are rather under developed these days compared to what they once where, but for now I'm focusing on the night goblins. I know a lot of people play around with the night goblins, and that has put me off in the past a little, but hell, the little buggers have squigs so I'm going to play with them for a bit.

First Dark Eldar List Ideas: 7th edition

Now that the codex has been out a few days I have had a few ideas about different dark eldar army lists. Not all of them are good, but a lot of possibilities are in the codex, and while I have seen a few people have similar ideas, I generally work around 1500 points so these are a little more restricted than 1850 or 2k.

Dark Eldar Reinforcements

Surprisingly a friend of mine has decided to get rid of his old dark eldar force in order to make some room for different models (probably imperial guard and his million fliers) and just gave me his models. Knowing I have an old 3^rd edition dark eldar force he knew I would happily accept as his models are all old school as well. So I thought I would show off the state of my dark eldar force as it is right now.

Tale of 4 Gamers: an escalating campaign

At the gaming club we are starting a slow escalation campaign between 4 of us, in order for all of the participants to gradually paint and build up a new force. For this I will be using my Imperial guard, as I have been meaning to get them sorted after over a year of a lot of bits just sitting in my house.

Council of War Army lists

With Council of War fast approaching I thought I would show you all what I have finally decided on taking. I followed the advice you all gave me for the 1500 point list and dropped the one I tested out for something a little more conventional. But council of war isn’t just a bunch of 1500 point games, oh no, read on to find out more.

Eldar vs Maynark Necrons 1500: Tournament practice 1

In preparation for Council of War I test out one of my possible tournament lists vs the necrons of the Maynark dynasty (forgeworld rules) in a 1500 point game of purge the alien. Who will win this fight to the death? The Ancient mechanical Necrons or the Dying Eldar? Old foes battling once more.

Potential Tournament lists 1500

With my first Tournament of 7^th coming up soon I have come up with 2 lists, one of which I am more comfortable playing with, but I’m not 100% sure which to use. A stipulation of the tournament is that every model must be painted and must represent what it is, so no proxies (it is at warhammer world after all).

1850 Tournament lists, which to choose?

At the start of the year I said that I wanted to attend more tournaments than last year and so far I haven’t been able to attend one, so I am attempting to attend one in May. Meaning that I have a fair amount of preparation before the tournament, list being the largest issue.

A few more Tyranid thoughts...

I have had two games with the new tyranid codex, neither of which have gone very well, but both were extremely fun. Unfortunately my friend has taken back his tyranids from me so i won't be having any any more games with them, but i think i can still share my limited experience and see where i can go next with the nids.

Tyranids 1500 list: Ignoring the rest of the internet!

I thought I would ignore the nay Sayers of the internet who say Tyranids suck, and have a go at creating my own tyranid list. And I’m happy with what I have made so far, I do want to try it out in the future, so I might borrow some tyranids from a friend of mine soon. The biggest thing that struck me about the new codex was that carnifex’s are cheap, very cheap, guess where this is going...

Evolving list: Back to Basics (No lord of war)

With my Lynx running rampant on the battle field it has made me want to take a step back and go back to a normal list, not using a lord of war. I am very aware that people will still be using them in battle, meaning that I have to prepare my force to take on a super-heavy should one appear.

Stronghold assault Ideas

I now have a copy of stronghold assault, and I’m quite amazed by it. When both stronghold and escalation were announced I expected escalation to be the one that captured my imagination and leave the other in the dark, but it’s not happened. While I appreciate how game changing escalation is, I am seriously considering some of the fortification networks we can now buy.

Lord of War: Eldar Lynx

With the forgeworld PDF release the other weak it has opened up A LOT more options for us, as I am sure you are aware, as now practically every forgeworld model can be used in a game of 40k. As the only super heavy that I own is the Eldar lynx, this was a great boon to me. I have only used it once, in a game of apocalypse, which I didn’t think about using it, I just wanted a big D on the table, so now, I have to consider if I should take it or not in a 1500 point game.

List for taking on a Lord of War

We now have super heavies to worry about, so I came up with a list that could potentially take down a super heavy if I come across it, but still must be able to deal with a regular army if I don’t come across a lord of war. It’s a lot harder than I thought it would be. 

1850 40k Tournament: First Impressions

Having taken part In my first 1850 40k tournament I thought I would share with you how I felt about the experience as a whole before I go into the battle reports that I’m sure you can all laugh at me over. The event consisted of 3 games over 1 day and 24 people took part over all.

Wraith-Star still viable?

I was reminiscing about my old wraith-Star list that I used before the 6^th edition elder codex came out and it got me thinking, is something just as deadly possible? Well I think I have something, but will it be any good on the table? Not a clue but if someone tried it I can imagine it being hilarious to use.

1500 Evolving List and 1850 Tournament List

With less than a month till my tournament I have decided on a list that I will be taking, I will be practicing with it as much as I can and see what I need to do to win with it, or if anything dramatically needs to change. I have also come up with a 1500 point list that I feel will dramatically improve my odds in that arena as well as my previous evolving list failed dramatically, a kind of re-boot if you will.

Call to War... 1850 Tournament list

In about a month I will be going to an 1850 point tournament, this will be the second tournament I will have attended and the first time I have properly played at the 1850 point level. Looking at it right now I don’t think it’s a great idea. So I need your help reviewing my list etc...
